CHICAGO (WBBM)  -- Democratic Senator Dick Durbin, a Barack Obama supporter, is needling Republican presidential candidate, Senator John McCain for opposing the newest G-I Bill proposal.

Durbin urges McCain to "reconsider" his opposition.

He says "The fact that John does not support this GI bill troubles me." Durbin says Iraq and Afghanistan veterans need to be given the same opportunities given to World War II veterans.

On other presidential campaign issues, Senator Durbin believes McCain’s pastor problems should be put behind him as Obama’s were.

Durbin says, "I think Barack got it right. You can’t blame any person or candidate for what a minister or any kind of religious leader says".

Durbin is also urging undeclared super-delegates to come out now for Barack Obama for the Democratic Party nomination.
